From fin-tech & D2C, to entrepreneurship & investing, Kaleidoscope is Klub's take on the how's and why's of the finance, investment, & D2C worlds.

This week saw an overflow of innovation and heartfelt stories coming in from India's entrepreneurs. Bidding wars and pitches go hand in hand and Shark Tank India's Week 7 was no different. And by bidding, we are also referring to Google keywords:

Key takeaways from this week’s episodes are:

  • Necessity is the mother of invention: When a 26-year-old woman was looking out of a physically abusive marriage, she chose to become and entrepreneur to start a D2C business with her mother. The purpose of life was found and flavorful cakes were delivered.
  • Not selling enough might as well be a pre-revenue model: Multiple pitches this week got hung and stung when the matter of sales came up. The sharks refused to invest in concepts that were innovative but showed low promise in revenues.
  • Going indigenous is the future: With pitches like Nirmalaya and Pabiben, it is clear that entrepreneurs are exploring our cultural roots and using business as a medium to uplift the eco-socio sections of society.
